FAQs

Out-of-Network

Payment is due at the time of booking. Self-pay rates are available on our services and online booking pages. We will provide you with a superbill coded under the lactating parent that includes the insurance information you provide to us. We cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you under the Affordable Care Act.

In-Network

We are in-network Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM, United Healthcare, and NM Medicaid including Turquoise Care plans.

You are responsible to verify your own insurance coverage benefits for lactation services. We can only verify if we are in-network with your plan, we cannot see if your plan covers lactation care or if you have used up any of your covered lactation benefits. You will need to find this out yourself. Please see the bottom of this FAQ for more information on each payer.

Cost Sharing

We cannot guarantee that your covered services will not have cost-sharing applied by your insurance.

Even if your insurance told you that you have full coverage for lactation care, there will likely be limitations and restrictions on care that may differ from plan to plan.

If your plan does not cover lactation services, or if you have used up your covered benefits for lactation, you may be billed for these services.

Blue Cross Blue Shield

The BCBS system only tells us if you have active coverage. They do not tell us if there are any limitations in place on your plan. We recommend you call your plan and ask if your plan covers preventive care and lactation, specifically codes S9443 and 98960.
